Old World Inspired Kitchen.

This might just be the perfect kitchen for me, I just cannot stop looking at it.  The only thing I can find that I would change is the way the door swings on the fridge.  Enjoy, Heidi

Beaming.

Exposed beams have a tendency to make me beam with delight.  Enjoy, Heidi

This one blew me away.  Check out their site, it is devine.

If I lived here, I would have to pinch myself everyday.

Perfect layout and size for my dream house, only I am thinking that a wall to close off the kitchen would be a good idea.

Rammed Earth or Straw Bales?

I found these images over at Nest Egg, one of my new favorite blogs. They are from one of her clients (her client has great taste, by the way). You all know that I am a nut for High/Exposed ceilings, but the issue I have been pondering lately is can I build my dream home like this but with rammed earth walls or even straw bale walls? Maybe one of you know a little bit about this. I have searched the net and researched the subject, but it is not as popular around here.
I watched Jamie Durie (love him, thank you Australia) do a job with rammed earth in California and the construction crew didn't have a clue. Come on America, we need to get with the picture and use sustainable resources. I will try my damnedest to make earth friendly living absolutely fabulous. Hope you all have a playful or relaxing or both, weekend. Love, Heidi

My Ceiling Obsession.

I never get tired of seeing sky high ceilings with exposed beams. In my past life I must have lived in one of these kinds of houses. Enjoy, Heidi

Fairytale Cottage.

If I were a fairytale princess I would prefer to stay in my royal country cottage rather my dark, cold castle. Enjoy, HeidiImage via Thomas Callaway.

Open floor plan in the Kitchen.

I am loving the kitchen open floor plan lately. It only makes sense to have a gathering place to sit, eat and cook all in one big room. When I have my family over for holiday meals, they don't sit in the living room, ( that is where you can find my husband). They want to be in the kitchen with me helping out, taste testing and just being together. Only my kitchen is about the size of most peoples bathrooms. Enjoy, Heidi

Making Love in the Kitchen, I mean Lunch. Part 2

This is pic is from the same kitchen I posted on the last Making Love/Lunch in the Kitchen. I am so in love with the built in matching hutches. OMG! But the next 3 images have my heart. They are all of the same Kitchen done by Mick De Giulio. Enjoy, Heidi

Exposed and High, in the ceiling department.

I know that it is a waste of space and not very energy efficient, but I love high ceilings with exposed beams. I will add some sky lights and solar panels to the roof and maybe then it will balance out nicely. These of course are going straight to my Dream House File. The neutrals and fireplace are added bonuses. Also love the furniture layout in images 4 and 5. Enjoy, Heidi

Where's the escape button?

After last night's Therapy Session with the Seven things Challenge I feel the need to escape. Oh, thank you Architectural Digest, you are always providing me with emergency escape exits into decorating bliss when I need them. Escape with me if you like. Enjoy, Heidi

Open Floor Plan

For my next dream home I am leaning toward a more open design. Lots of natural light and high ceilings. I love the classic neutrals with shots of drama here and there. Enjoy, Heidi
