10 Architectural Wonders Of China

China is mainly seen as the cradle of the communism doctrine and not exactly opened to new and progressive development. However this turns out to be very wrong especially because as progressive architectural designs are concerned, China gives lessons to the rest of the world.
The Chinese territory has the space to let the most creative architectural designs come to life and also has the resources and the work force to create masterpieces.
The most amazing buildings in China are not just pretty. They bring in the futuristic perspective and the complex designs and turn them into the best building concepts combining spectacular and functional.

1. Suzhou Wuzhong north road

The Suzhou Wuzhong north road development was a concept built out of the need to create an oasis of peace and tranquility, a place where people could gather and share wonderful moments.

The complex structure combines functional buildings, green spaces, pedestrian alleys and hotel structures in a building created following every concept of sustainability.

2. The Commune

The Commune is a cosmopolite and spectacular combination of 12 houses designed by the best architects of Asia, each of them unique and spectacular carrying a legacy of architectural design placed in the vicinity of the Great Wall of China.

3. The Linked Hybrid

The Linked Hybrid is a progressive architectural design meant to be one with the environment.
Complex recycling systems and a water circulation concept allows green heating and cooling depending on the season. This is a system able to replace the traditional heating and air conditioning and protect the environment.

4. The Water Cube

The Aquatic Center or the Water Cube was originally designed for the Olympic Games. The structure used sustainable materials and green energy to heat the pools. Also the water is filtrated and reused to prevent water waste.

5. Dongtan Eco city

Dongtan Eco city is an entire city structure using progressive architecture concepts and using only sustainable materials.
The project is to be completed in 2040 with the first phase due in 2010, and it will be the first sustainable cosmopolis in the world.

6. CCTV tower

The spectacular structure of the Chinese National Television building is a spectacular display of geometrical grace with a complex diagrid structure to distribute the balance angle over the entire building surface. This redefines the term of spectacular design.

7. National Grand Theater

Spectacular and controversial the National Grand Theater building is crossing over a lot of lines in architecture still we can only wonder at the sight of this out of the future beauty that offers the chance to be revered by architectural history.

8. Donghai Bridge

The Donghai Bridge that links Shanghai to Yangshan Island is built over the sea and its solid structure allows it to survive harsh weather conditions.

9. Beijing’s international airport

Beijing’s international airport covers 1 million square meters and it is an extremely impressive structure able to host and move around 43 million passengers/ year.

10. The Bird’s Nest

The Bird’s Nest is the coolest combination of spectacular design and green building technology following the classical shape of the Roman Coliseum. Originally created for the Olympic games the structure was able to amaze the entire architectural world with its original interpretation of design.
