Nowhere in the world could we see the raw forces of nature being more  destructive but in the mean time closer to the wild side of our inner  self than near an active volcano.
The beauty and the majesty of the mountain and the mighty power that  hides in its inner core are part of this planet’s most beautiful display  of force. So, when you feel the chills and enchantment while looking at  a volcano consider how small, fragile and feeble we are in front of  this type of natural force.
Mount Pelee, Martinique, West Indies
Mount Pelee in Martinique last erupted in 1902 when it swept a deadly  wave of lava over the city capital of the island, destroying all the  ships docked in the harbor and killing over 29.000 people.
Now the volcano is sleeping and the ground fertilized by its eruption transformed the area in a green paradise.
Mount Sakurajima, Kagoshima, Japan
One of the most active volcanoes of the modern century Mount Sakurajima erupts around 200 times a year.
It is true that this process involves exclusively its peak but  nevertheless if you dear to climb it, it will offer you a direct line to  an amazing adrenalin rush.
Mount St Helen’s , US
In 1980, when it erupted last, this volcano created a major  devastation. Still the many geological studies conducted since 1978 and  the preventive measures taken then have reduced the impact of the  eruption.
